RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO H. KENNETH ALSMAN
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF
THE HISTORIC RESOURCES BOARD
WHEREAS, Ken Alsman has served the City of Palo Alto as a member of
the Historic Resources Board from November 5, 1985 to 5eptember 1, 1988; and
WHEREAS, Ken Alsman has been an active member of the Historic
Resources Board, including serving as Chairman during his tenure on the Board;
and
WHEREAS, Ken Alsman has actively participated in various connittees
and organizations, including the Downtown Amenities Committee, the Urban
Design Cmmi1ttee, the Civic Center Plaza Subconnittee and Palo Alto·Stanford
Heritage, where he actively assisted in planning the 1988 California PreserYation Conference; and
WHEREAS, Ken Alsman has unselfishly contributed hh know1edge and
experience in the field of urban planning and historic restoration to Board
deliberations, and has assisted the Board in articulating its positions on
many issues relating to historic preservation in Palo Alto; ard.t
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to acknowledge and thank Ken
Alsman for his personal connitment to the community and interest in historic
preservation and for his significant personal efforts and substantial
dedication as a member of the Historic Resources Board;
NOii, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends it sincere appreciation and
the appreciation of the community to Ken Alsman for his faithful and excellent
service rendered to the City.
