RESOLUTION NO. 6766
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OP TBE CITY OF PALO ALTO
SUPPORTING T~E APPLICATION OF THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY
ARTS COUNCIL FOR A PLANNING GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL
ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS
WHEREAS, Palo Al to has a long history of municipal support
for the arts1 and
WHEREAS, Palo Alto recognizes the interest of neighboring
communities in Santa Clara County in municipal support for the
arts; a.nd
WHEREAS, the Sant.a Clara County Arts Council has applied to
the National Endowment for the Arts for a ten month planning grant
for municipalities in Santa Cl~ra County ~o explore ways to
increase arts support throughout the county; and
WHEREAS, the fifteen cities in the county, working together,
will be able to develop collaborative initiatives that will
enhance and support the arts in each city as well as Palo Alto1
and
WHEREAS, an inter-city collaboration will insure a healthier
arts environaent in every city in our county.
NOW, TBBREFORE, the council of the city of Palo Al to does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION t. The City Council does hereby support the Santa
Clara County Arts Council's application for a countywide planning
grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
SECTION 2. 'l'he council finds that this is not a project
under t6e California Environmental Quality Act.
SECTION 3. The City Council
