HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6754ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 6754 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO APPROVING AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMEN1 OP HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR RENTAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM GRA.~T FUNDS WHEREAS, the o.s. Department of Housing and Urban Development (weuo•) has issued a Notice of Funding Availability for its Rental Rehabilitation Program for fiscal year 1989; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17 of the United States Housing Act of 1937, 42 u.s.c. S 1437(0), HUD is authorized to provide funds for the rehabilitation of housing; and WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto is a local public entity or- 9anized under the laws of the State of California and is eligible to participate in the Rental Rehabilitation Program; and WHEREAS, the City of the Palo Alto desires to apply for and, if iccepted, will administer the $41,000 allocation amount under the Rental Rehabilitation Program in accordance with the federal requirements: NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Al to does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. The Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or his desi9nee to apply for and, if accepted, to administer the $41,000 allocation for fiscal year 1989 from the Rental Rehabili- tation Proqram of BUD. SECT J.ON 2. The Council hereby further authorizes the City Manager or his designee to administer and packaqe individual grant applications for the new Rental Rehabilitation Grant Funds. SECTION 3. The Council hereby certifies that all the uses of these Grant Funds will be in compliance with the Rental Rehabili- tation Program rules and regulations under 24 CFR, Part 511. 1 • SECTION 4. The Council hereby finds that this is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act, and therefore, no environmental impact assessment is necessary.
