RESOLUTION NO. 6749
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE P~R CAPITA
GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE, COASTAL, AND PARK
LANO CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988 FOR THE GftEER PARK PROJECT
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted
the California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act
of 1988, which provides funds to the State of California and its
political subdivisions for acquiring and/or developing facilities
for public recreational and open space purposes: and
WHEREAS, the State Departm'=!nt of Parks and Recreation has
been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the
program within the State, setting up necessary procedures govern-
ing application by local agencies under the program: and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by reso-
1 ution the approval of applications before submission of said
applications to the State1 and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the appli-
cant must comply with1 and
WilEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the
State of California for acquisition or development of the project
for which it is requesting funds~ and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Al to desires to apply for such
grant funds to help finance Phase II of the Greer Park Project
(the "Project")1
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves the filing of an
application for the Per Capita Grant Program under the California
Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988 for
State grant assistance for the Project.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby certifies that it under-
stands the assurances and certification in the application form.
SRCTION 3. The City Council hereby certifies that it has or
will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the Project.

SECTION 4. If the Project is selected for State grant fund-
ing, tne eity Council hereby certifies that it will provide con-
struction plans and specifications to the State within one year of
the appropriation of funds under this program and will commence
work immediately after State approval.
SECTION s. The City Council hereby appoints the City Manager
or hi-s-a'"eslgnee as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations,
execute and submit all documents, incl ud l.ng but not l ..1..mi ted to
applications, ~greements, amendments, payment requests, and so on,
which may be necessary for. the comp let ion of the afcrement ioned
Project.
SECTION 6. The City Council hereby finds that this is a pro-
ject un3er the California Environmental Quality Act. An Environ-
mental Assessment has been completed and the Project has received
a negative declaration.
