HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-08-05 Ordinance 4758follows: ORDINANCE NO. 4758 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO APPROVING AND ADOPTING A PLAN FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MEMORIAL GROVE AT ELEANOR PARDEE PARK The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as SECTION 1. Findings and Declarations. finds and declares as follows: The City Council (a) Article VIII of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto and Section 22.08.005 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code require that, before any substantial building, construction, reconstruction or development is commenced or approved, upon or with respect to any land held by the City for park purposes, the Council shall first cause to be prepared and by ordinance approve and adopt a plan therefore; (b) purposes; Eleanor Pardee Park is dedicated to park (c) The site and design review of the Eleanor Pardee Park Memorial Grove Plan ("the Plan") has been conducted and the Plan has been recommended for approval by the Ci ty boards and commissions having jurisdiction over such matters, because it conforms to the provisions of Chapter 18.82 of the Palo Al to Municipal Code and the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan: and {d} The Council desires to approve enhancement of that portion of land that lies within Eleanor Pardee Park, which is approximately 60'L X 80'W or 4800 sq.ft in length being west to east and the width north to south, as more specifically described on the Plan attached hereto as Exhibit "A", including, without limitation, the following: (l) Reconstruction of Memorial Grove area of Eleanor Pardee Park; (2) Construction of irrigation system; and' (3) The installation of new pathway, park benches, boulder and landscaping. 020812 sm 7080077 1 SECTION 2. The Plan, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated by this reference is hereby approved and adopted. SECTION 3. The City Council hereby finds that it can be seen with certainty that there is no potential for this action to have a significant adverse effect on the environment. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective on the thirty-first day after the date of its adoption.
