HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-02-19 Ordinance 4736ORDINANCE NO. 4736 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2001-02 TO TRANSFER $46,238 FROM CIP 19109, POLICE INFORMATION SYSTEMS MASTER PLAN TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR CIP 19312, FIRE/COMMUNICATIONS COMPUTER SYSTEM WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 11, 2001 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 2001-02; and WHEREAS, the current Station Notification System (SNS) is nearly 30 years old and it is difficult to find replacement parts and maintain; and WHEREAS, upgrading the Alerting System will allow personnel; and existing system quicker response with time a new Fire for safety WHEREAS, the budget needs to be amended to transfer $46,238 from CIP 19109, Police Information Systems Master Plan to CIP 19312, Fire/Communications Computer System; and WHEREAS, this transfer of previously appropriated funds is a one-time event and no future year General Fund ongoing costs are anticipated; and WHEREAS, City'Council authorization is needed to amend the 2001-02 budget as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. The sum of Forty Six Thousand Two Hundred Thirty- Eight ($46,238) is hereby transferred from Capital Improvement Project Number 19109 to the appropriation for Capital Improvement Project Number 19312. SECTION 2. This transaction will reduce the amount appropriated to CIP project 19109 from $46,238 to $0 resulting in no impact to the Budget Stabilization Reserve. SECTION 3. As specified in Section 2.28.080 (a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the Ci ty Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTION 4. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that ect is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the CEQA Guidelines, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is necessary. SECTION 5. As provided in Section 2.04.350 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
