HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-10-10 Ordinance 4660ORDINANCE NO. 4660 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000-01 TO ACCEPT A $5,192 GRANT FROM THE ARTS COUNCIL SILICON VALLEY AND TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT OF $5,192 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 19, 2000 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 2000-01i and WHEREAS, the Arts Council Silicon Valley has awarded a matching grant of $5,192 to the City of Palo Alto to strengthen the quality and visibility of the exhibition and education program, thereby increasing the audience for the visual artsj and WHEREAS, the funds necessary to match the grant have been included in the Arts and Culture functional area budget for 2000-01; and WHEREAS, the additional appropriation of funds requested has no impact on the Budget Stabilization Reserve and no future year General Fund ongoing costs are anticipated as a result of this ordinance; and WHEREAS, City Council authorization is needed to accept and expend the grant receiptsiand WHEREAS, City Council authorization is needed to amend the 2000-01 budget as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Grant revenue in the Visual Arts Functional Area of the Community Services Department is increased by Five Thousand One Hundred Ninety Two Dollars ($5,192) for receipt of the California Arts Council Funds. SECTION 2. The sum of $5,192 is hereby appropriated to non- salary expenses in the Visual Arts Functional Area in the Community Services Department. SECTION 3. This transaction will have no impact on the Budget Stabilization Reserve. SECTION 4. As specified in Section 2.2S.0S0(a) of the Palo Al to Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the Ci ty Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTION 5. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that this is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is necessary. SECTION 6. As provided in Section 2.04.350 of the Palo Alto Municipal 'Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
