THE COUNCIL· OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1999 00 TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF $58,700 COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS RELATED TO THE NEW CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 ·of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 28, 1999 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1999-00; and WHEREAS, City Manager, June Fleming, has announced she will retire from the City on April 7, 2000; and WHEREAS,. the City Council has hired a new City Manager and has negotiated a compensation package with the new City Manager that will require an additional appropriation of funds, and will include both one time and ongoing costsi and WHEREAS, City Council authorization is needed to amend the 1999-00 budget to provide for this new expenditure as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION]. The sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) is hereby appropriated to non-salary expenses in the City Management Functional Area in the City Manager's Budget. SECTION 2. The sum of Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($3,750) is hereby appropriated to salary expenses in the City Management Functional Area in the City Manager's Budget. SECTION 3. The sum of Twelve Thousand, Four Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($12,450) is hereby appropriated to non-salary expenses in the Workforce Recruitment and Selection Functional Area in the Human Resources Department. SECTION 4. The sum of Twenty Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($27,500) is hereby transferred and appropriated to non salary expenses in the Vehicle Replacement and Additions Functional Area in the Vehicle Replacement Fund. SECTION 5. These transactions will reduce the General Fund Budget Stabilization Reserve by Fifty Eight Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars ($58,700). SECTION 6. This transaction will reduce the General Fund Budget Stabilization Reserve from $20,673,801 to $20,615,101. SECTION 7. As specified in Section 2.2S.0S0(a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTION S. The Council the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that this is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is necessary. SECTION 9. As provided in Section 2.04.350 of the Alto Municipal Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
