HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-06-09 Ordinance 4792ORDINANCE NO. 4792 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2002-03 TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF $2,494 FOR STATE BRIDGE SEISMIC RETROFIT GRANT FUNDING FOR THE SAND HILL ROAD BRIDGE CIP 10018 The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds and determines as follows: A. Pursuant to the prOV1S1ons of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 17, 2002 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 2002-03; and B. After the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, the State established a Seismic Retrofit Program. As a result, Cal trans has prepared plans and specifications and provided funding for the seismic upgrade of the Sand Hill Road Bridge at San Francisquito Creek; and C. The State has provided an $85,494 grant for this project to update the seismic strength of the bridge by adding reinforcing steel and concrete to the underside of the existing bridge: and D. To date $83,000 has been budgeted in CIP 10018 with the $2,494 remaining balance still requiring appropriation: and E. The additional appropriation of funds is for one-time expenditures and no future year General Fund ongoing costs are anticipated; and F. City Council authorization is needed to amend the 2002-03 budget as hereinafter set forth. SECTION 2. Revenue in CIP Project Number 10018 is increased by Two Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars ($2,494) for receipt of State grant funding. SECTION 3. The sum of Two Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars ($2,494) is hereby appropriated to Capital Project Number 10018. SECTION 4. The above transactions will have no impact on the Budget Stabilization Reserve. SECTION 5. As specified in Section 2.28.080(a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. 1 SECTION 6. The City Planning Director certified an Environmental Assessment for the project on April 17, 2000. SECTION 7. Municipal Code, adoption.
