ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2013 TO
PROVIDE AN APPROPRIATION OF $549,000 TO CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT NUMBER PE-86070, STREET
MAINTENANCE, FOR THE SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
. RESURFACING PROJECT: LYTTON AVENUE AND CHANNING
AVENUE
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds and
determines ·as follows:
A. Pursuant to the provlslons of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on
June 18, 2012 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 2013; and
B. In fiscal year 2013, the· Council appropriated
$4,653,635 for CIP Project PE-86070, Street Maintenance, for
annual resurfacing, slurry seal, crack seal, and
reconstruction of city streets. Included in CIP Project PE-
86070 is the Surface Transportation Program (STP) Resurfacing
Project: Lytton Avenue and Channing Avenue; and
C. In April 2012, the City was awarded an STP grant of
$549,000 by the California Department of Transportation. An
appropriation of $549,000 to CIP Project PE-86070 is needed to
authorize expenditures related to the grant for repaving
Lytton Avenue and Channing Avenue; and
D. City Council authorization is needed to amend the 2013
budget as hereinafter set forth.
SECTION 2. The sum of Five Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand
. Dollars ($549,000) is hereby appropriated to CIP Project PE-
86070, Street Maintenance, for the STP Resurfacing Project:
Lytton Avenue and Channing Avenue.
SECTION 3. The Capital Projects Fund will be reimbursed
by grant funding from the California Department of
Transportation in the amount of Five Hundred Forty-Nine
Thousand Dollars ($549,000).
