HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-10-22 Ordinance 4971ORDINANCE NO. 4971 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-08 TO ACCEPT ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDING FROM STATE OF CALIFORNIA 9-1-1 EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $54,000 AND PROVIDE ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) PROJECT NUMBER TE-06002, 9-1-1 EMERGENCY PHONE SYSTEM UPGRADE The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. In fiscal year 2005-06, Palo Alto received an initial grant allocation from the State of California 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Office in the amount of $324,000 for the upgrade of the 9-1-1 emergency phone system. CIP project TE-06002 (Project), with an initial appropriation of $324,000, was created in the same year; and C. In September 2007, Palo Alto received an additional grant allocation from the same Office in the amount of $54,000, bringing total grant allocation to $378,000; and D. It is recommended that the appropriation for the Project be increased by the same amount of the additional allocation of $54,OOOi and --E. City Council authorization is needed to amend the 2007-08 budget to recognize the additional allocation from the State of California 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Office of $54,000 and appropriate the same amount to the 9-1-1 Emergency Phone System Upgrade Project. SECTION Fifty Four Revenue in the Technology Fund is hereby increased by Dollars ($54,000). SECTION 3. The sum of Fifty Four Thousand Dollars ($54,000) is appropriated to CIP Project TE-06002, 9-1-1 Emergency Phone System Upgrade. SECTION 4. As specified in Section 2.28.080(a) of the Palo Alto Munic Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTION 5. As provided in Section 2.04.330 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon adoption. SECTION 6.
