ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2007-08 TO
PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF $93,507 TO
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) PE-04011, CAMBRIDGE
PARKING STRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds
and determines as follows:
A. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of

did adopt a budget for fiscal year 2007-08; and
B. In fiscal year 2003-04, the Council did adopt a budget for
CIP Project PE-04011, Cambridge Parking Structure
Improvements (Project) , with an initial appropriation of $40,000 for
the study of the Project; and
C. In fiscal year 2005-06, the Council increased the
appropriation by $200,000 for the design and construction costs of
the Project; and
D. In fiscal years 2003-04 and 2005-06, the Council
appropriated a total amount of $240,000 from the California Avenue
Parking Permit Fees to provide funding to this Project; and
E. From fiscal year 2003-04 to date, expenses related to the

balance of $168,647 for the construction cost of the Project; and
F. This project was put out to bid; the low bid is higher
than the amount estimated for the Project and additional funding of
$93,507 is required to construct the Project; and
G. The total additional appropriation of $93,507 for this
Proj ect will be funded by the California Avenue Parking Permit
Fees; and
H. The appropriation of funds for CIP Proj ect PE-04 011,
Cambridge Parking Structure Improvements is a one-time event, and
in future years maintenance and replacement costs will be included
in the Public Works Department's budgeti and
I. City Council authorization is needed to amend the 2007-0S
budget to make available the funds required for construction of the
Project.
SECTION 2. The California Avenue Parking Permit Fund is hereby
reduced by Ninety-Three Thousand Five Hundred Seven Dollars
($93,507) to Three Hundred Thirty Thousand Four Hundred Thirty
Dollars ($330,430).
SECTION 3. Revenue in CIP Project Number PE-04011 is hereby
increased by a transfer from the California Avenue Parking Permit
Fund in the amount of Ninety-Three Thousand Five Hundred Seven
Dollars ($93,507).

Cambridge Parking Structure Improvements.
The transactions above will have no impact on the
General Fund Budget Stabilization Reserve.
SECTION 6. As specified in Section 2.2S.0S0(a) of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is
required to adopt this ordinance.
SECTION 7. As provided in Section 2.04.330 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon
adoption.
SECTION S. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds
that this project is exempt from the provisions of the California
Environmental Quality Act, and therefore, no environmental impact
assessment
