ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO'
APPROVING AND AOOPTING AN AMENDED PLAN FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE BAYLANOS NATURE INTERPRETIVE
CENTER
WHEREAS; Article VIII of the Charter provides that no sub-
stantial building, construction, reconstruction or development.
upon or with respect to any lands dedicated for park, playground,
recreation or conservation purposes shall be made except pursuant
to a plan approved by ordinance subject to ref~'rendum, and
WHERE~~, the Council has approved a plan by Ordinance No.
2469 adopted September 23, 1968 for the first stage of develop
ment of the Baylands Nature Interpretive Center located in Byxbee
Park arid the City-owned Bay lands·, and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to proceed with the rl~velopment
and co~struction of a boardwalk and observation platform as a par~
of, and to be opsrated in conjunction with, said Baylands Nature
Interpretive Center,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION l. The Plan attached hereto, marked EXHIBIT A and
identified as 11 Baylands Boardwalk", is hereby approved and adopted.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon the'·
expiration of thirty days· from its passage.
