The COun_cil of the City of Palo Alto does_ ORDAIN aa follows: .
SECTION l. Section 2,of Ordinance No~ 2494 is hereby amended
to read as · · follows : .
"SECTION 2. Beginning with the effective date of this
ordinance and untii Auqust-5, 1969, or until the effective
date of any ordinance passed by the Council which· sets
parkinq requirements for hospital, convalescent hospital
or rest home uses, whichever date c6mes first,nq buildinq
permit shall be issued for the construction of new struc
tures or for the making qf any major improvements. on any
existing structure concerning hospitals, convalescent·
hospitals or rest homes on any property located in the
R-3-P or R-4 zoninq districts."
SECTION 2. All other provisions of Ordinance No. 2494 shall
remain in full force and effect as originally passed.
SECTION 3. RQt!~,-~8e of the .facts :::::t fcrth in 3ection l: ut
ordinance No. 2494, and in order to protect the public safety,
health and welfare, the Council does declare that this is an emer-·

9ency ordinance that shall take effect immediately upon its P8:ssage.
