ORDH!ANCE NO. 2490
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12.16.020 OF CHAPTER 12.16
OF TITLE 12 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE BY.ESTAB
'L!SHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICTS NOS. 9 AND 10
The Council of the City of Palo Alto, Calffornia, does ordain
as follows:
WHEREAS, this Council did, on October 7, 1968, adopt its Resolu
tion of Intention No. 4171 to establish Underground Utility Districts
Noso 8, 9 a11d 10, and appointed the 12th day of-November, 1968, at the
hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Palo
Alto, California, as the time and place of hearing protests and receiv
ing evidence t:or and against sa:fd proposed action and directing notice;
WHERF.AS, notice was given·of the time.and place therein stated in
the manner provided by law; as appears from the affidavits on file in
the office or tr~ City Clerk;
WHEREAS, said matter came on regularly f'or hearing at the time
therein fixed; and
' . WHEREAS, all written protests and other written communications

were publicly read at said meeting and evidence duly taken and all
.persons desiring to be heard were fully heard; : :
··Now, THEREFORE,, IT IS FOUND, DETEF.MINED Md ORDERED, .as follows:
1. The public necessity, health and safety" require the r~moval ,_
of poles and overhead lines and associated oVerheaQ ,structures from
those certain areas· described as Uridf.frground Utility Districts Nos.
9 and 10 in said.Resolution of Intention No. 4171.

3. The 11 Underground Utility District Maps",· referred to in said
Section 12.16.020 shall.be amended to add the areas shown on -the maps
as Underground Utility Districts Nos. 9'and 10 referred to in said Reso-
lution No. 4171 •
. 4. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the expiration of
thirty (36)_ days from its passage.

The foregoing ordinance w~~ duly and regularly introduced e.t a
regular meeting of the Council of the City'of Palo Alto held on the
