ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CI'fY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 4.42.180(6) OF THE PALO Al.TO
MUNICIPAL CODE TO REQUIRE MEDICAL EXAMINATION FOR
TAXICAB DRIVERS AT FOUR YEAR INTERVALS
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as fol-
lows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (6) of Section 4.42.180 of the Palo
-Alto Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
11 (6) An original application from any person who
intends to drive a taxicab shall be accompanied by
a medical certificate issued within sixty days
immediately preceding the application, and signed
by a physician licensed by the state of California,
certifying that, in his opinion, the applicant is
not afflicted with any disease or infirmity which
might make him an unsafe or unsatisfactory driver.
If the permit is renewed annually such-medical
certificate shall be valid for four years."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon
the expiration of thirty days from its passage.
