ORDINANCE NO. 2475 ORIGINAL
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVINq AND ADOPTING A PLAN FOR PHASE 1 OF DE
VELOPMENT OF DUCK POND
WHEREAS, Section 5 of Article VIII of the Charter of the
City of Palo Alto requires that before any substantial building,
construction, reconstruction or development is conunenced or
approved upon or with respect to any land held by the City.for
park purposes the Council shall first cause to be prepared and
by ordinance approve and adopt a plan therefor; and
WHEREAS~ the City Council did, by Ordinance No. 2252 adopted
September 13, ·1965, place the Palo Alto Yacht Harbor, l.r-which
the Duck Pond is located, on the list of lands used or intended
to be used for park purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has excluded said Duck Pond from
the Palo Alto Yacht Harbor, as leased by the City to the County
of Santa Clara, said lease being executed on October 2, 1967 by
the City and on October 10, 1967 by the County of Santa Clara;
and
WHEREAS~ the City Council desires to develop the Duck Pond
in accordance with the plan prepared thereforj
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council 'of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION l. That 'th~ plan··marked EXHIBIT A, attached hereto
and· Ly reference made a;.-part hereof, describing the port'ion ·of
the Duck Pond proposed to be developed as Phase 1 of Development,
be and the same hereby is approved and adopted.
·-' SECTION 2. That sa,id plan shall be attached t::o that certain
·lease ag·reement covering the Palo Alto Yacht Harbor e~ecuted by

and between the city on October 2, 1967 and the c~unty:of Santa
Clara on Octd~~r 10,, 1967, as Exhibit ~c"·thereof, as'provided
therein in Section6(h).

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective upon the
expireil_tion of thirty days from its passage.
