APPROVl.NG AND ADOPJ'·t~·; A FLA~ FOR ·:-HE I'URTHER
DEVELOH1ENI OF JWXBEE PARK ANO THE C!.TY-OWNED BAYLANDS
WHEREAS, Section 5 1)f Arti c 1 e Vi.j.l cf the Charter of the
City of Palo Alto requires t.hat before any substantial buil.dfng, -·~·
construction, reconstruction ot: development is ccmmen.-:ed or
approved upon or with respect to any land held hy the city for
park purposes the e:i:·uncU shall flrst <:ause to be prepared and
by ordinance apprcve and ad0pt a plan therefor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did~ by Ordinance No~ 2252 adopted
SeptPmber 13, 1965 ~ place Byxbee Park and the City-owned :Rayl ands
on'che list of land~ used or intended to be used for park pur-
poses; and
WHEREAS, the City Co•.mc i l heretofore has leas 1 city-owned
lands known a.<:; the Pa lo A 1 tc At rport and the Palo Alto Yacht
B.&-:-bor to the C0 11nty of Sant a C1 ara for development, maintenance
and·oper.ation as county facilities; and
WHEREAS, 1J1e County of Santa Clara desires to relocate a
\,
portion of Embarcadero Road and the "Byxbee Park" entrance sign
in a manner requiring approval pursuant to said Article VIII
of the Charter; and
WHEREAS, the Clty Cou.r.cil ha1-:; determined that the proposed
relocation of said road and said sign would best. serve all of
the divet"se uses to which these lands have been put o ·
NOW, THEREFORE~ the Counc.i.1 of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as foll owE.:
SE~TlON l~ That the plan marked EXHIBIT A attached hereto
and by reference made a part hereof~ entitled •~oevelor·ment_ Plan
Embarcadero Road Relocat._ion", be and the Rame hereby is approved
and adopte<lo
