HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2473.~ • • ORDINANCE NO. 2473 ORIGINAL ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING CHAPTER 18. 79 COF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE ("'-C' CIVIC CENTER DISTRICT REGULATIONSu) TO PROVIDE UNIFORM HEIGIIT REQUIREMENTS THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT, TO RESTRICT SPECIAL SETBACK REQUIREME~TS TO CERTAIN FRO~fAGES, AND TO CLARIFY OFF-STREET PARKING AND SIGN REGULATIONS. The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Chapter 18.79 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as shown in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon the expiration of 30 days from i~s passage. The following regulations shall apply in any district with which,are combined the ""'."cu district in addition to the regulations hereinbefore specified, provided, however, that if any of the regulations specified in this section differ from any corresponding regu­ lations specified in this title for any district with which a "-C" district is combined, then in such case the provisions of this ~hapter shall apply. 18.79.020 Uses Permitted. All uses permitted in the respective district with wfiich the 11 -c 11 district is combined shall be permitted, except parking lots_ and-parking structures. 18.79.030 Uses Reguiring Use Permits. A use permit shall be required for any use whic would require a use permit in the respective district with which the 11 -C" district is com­ bined, except that parki~g lots and parking structures shall not be permitted. 18~79.040 Setback Requirements. On any street fronta~e in the "-C" district facing the bloc~ upon which the City Hall.-Library Complex is construc.ted, the setback shall be six ,feet, or that distance provid.ed by Title 20, or that distance provided by the regulations fo~ the district with which the "-c 11 district is combined, whichever-di$J tan: .. ~e · i.s the greatest. -18. 79. 050 Maximum and Minim\.im Building Heights. Buildings shall have a maxfmum height-of seventy feet and a minimum height of thirty-five.feet.. 18. 79 .. 060 Off-Street Parkin~ Areas. No operi ,·off-street parking areas shall be located on the alf of a lot nearest to any street. 18. 79.070 Signs •. Signs permitted in the 11 -C" district shall be -.th3; same as in'the-C-2 district except as· follows: . . (a) Flashing, moving or otherwise animated signs. shall be prohibited. {b) The s~ze of wall signs shall _be regulated ·by the table attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and incorporated herein by reference. (c)· -· Projecting. signs shall be prohibited. {d) When tht.~ 11 -c 11 d.istrict is combined with a "dis­ trict: w:fth more re.strictive sign regulations than the C-2 district, the more restrictive . regulations ~hall govern. · .. 1 .....
