ORDINANCE NO. 2468
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AND'AOOPTING A PLAN FOR DREDGING OF THE
PALO ALTO YACHT HARBOR
WHEREAS, Section 5 of Article VIII of the Charter of
-the City-of.Palo ,l\,lto requires that before any substantial
building, cons tructioT>., reconstruction or development _is
commenced or approved upon or with respect t0 any land held
by the City for park purposes
to be prepared and by ordinance approve and adopt a plan
therefor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did, by Ordin3nce No. 2252,
adopted September 12, 1965, place the Palo Alto Yacht Harbor
on the list of lands used or intended to be used for park
purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Council and the Boa.rd of Supervisors of
the County of Santa Clara have, pursuant to requirement of
the Charter, placed in the lease from the 'city to the County
of said Palo Alto Yacht Harbor, a requirement that the· 'County
be bound by Sect ion 5 of Artie le VIII of the Charter; and
WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara prorrnses to proceeci
with the dr('.dgi~g of the Palo Alto Yacht; Harbor and the

deposit of the sp~')ils of the dredging in accordance with a
'\ j
plan prepared ther,~for; and
WHEREAS, tlie Council heretofore has approved and adopted
a plan for the development of the Faber 'Tri:ict __ that· includes
t:he deposit of dredging· spoils thereon.
NOW, TIIEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto
does ORDAIN as follows:

SECTION 1. The plan attached hereto and identified as
Development Plan-Yacht Harbor Dredging, be and the same hereby
is approved and adopted.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon
the expiratlon of thirty days from its passage.
