ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO Al.TO
AMENDING SECTIONS 18.94.120 (b) and (c) OF THE
·.PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL COOE TO INCLUDE THE A.;.C DISTRICT

The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as
. follows:
.. SECTION 1. Sections 18.94.120 {b) and (c) of the ·Palo
Alto Mt.1nic·tpal Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
(b) In all "R" districts and the HDA and A-C dis
tricts, the industrial or CptOIJl~rcial nonconforming use of
any building originally desig11ed and built for residential
use shall be terminated within ten years fromthe effec
tive date of this section, or withi.n ten years from the
date the use became nonconforming, whichever date is later,
and within such time the building shall·either be removed
or converted to accommodate conforming uses.
(c) In all "R11 districts and the HDA and A-C dis
tricts, industrial or commercial nonconforming use of arty
bu~lding origina).ly designed and built· for nonresidential
purp'Os-es shall be termiqated, and the 'building ei,ther
converted to accommodate conforming uses or removed at or
before the time such building reaches the age set forth
in subsection (d) of this section, provided, however, that
no such termination, _removal or conversion. shall be re
quired within fifteen years from the effective date of
this section, or within fifteen years from the date the use
became 'nonccmforming-, whichever ?at¢ is later.
SECTION 2. This ordi~ance shalt become effectiv~ upon the
expiration of thirty days from 'thie date of its passage.
