ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 4.52.040 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PERMIT BILLIARD ROOMS TO MAIN-,:'AIN THE SAME
HOURS A.s BOWLING ESTABLISHMENTS FOR MINORS
The Council of the City of Palo Alt.a does .ORDAIN as
follows:
"4.52~040 Minors on Premises. It shall be
unlawful for any minor to be upon the premises of
any card room, billiard room or bowling establishmerit,--and nO:-person owning. or <iperating such place
shall permit any minor to be upon such premises,
'except as hereinaf.ter provided for billiard rooms
and bowling establishments only:
a. Minors eighteen· years of age or older
may be permitted upon such premises at any time
it is open to the public •.
b. Minors at least sixteen years of age, but
under eighteen years, may be permitted.upon the
premises from 8:00 a.m. u~til 12:00 midnight.
c. Minors under the age of sixteen years may
be permitted upon the premises until 10:00 p.m.
d. Any owner or operator may establish niore
restrictive hours for minors, or exclude minors.
e. The Chief of Police may require more
reg trictive .hours .for. min.Qr$, or·· exclud~ minors,
if he determines that inadequate precaution.$ ~x.it;t
to prevent the sale,-possession or consumption of
alcoholic beverages by minors on such premises~
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon: the
expiration of thirty days rrom the date of its 'passage.
