HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-07-15 Ordinance 4355• • ORDINA..."'CE NO. 4355 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1996-97 TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PALO ALTO TOGETHER PROGRAM. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 24, 1996 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1996-97; and WH£REi.t.S, on J\.pril 15, 1996, the CouJlcil approved a plan for the implementation of Palo Alto Together, a City-facilitated volunteer conununi ty action progra.'T.; and YiHEREAS. fur.ding 1n the amount of T<2n Thousand Dollars {$10,000) is needed for short-term expenditures associated with the project, which ~~·ill require an amend.rnent to the budget. Nov~~, THEEEFORE, the Council c,f the City of Palo Alto does onDAIN as follows: SEC"'TION 1. The sum of Ten 1'"t1ousand Dollars ($10, 000) is hereby app:'copriated to non-·salar:,.r expenses in the Interdepartmental Coordination Functional Area in the City Manager's Departmenti and the Budget Stabilization Reserve is correspondingly reduced. SECTION 2. This transaction will reduce the Budget Stabilization Reserve from $16,084,782 to $16,074,782. SECTION 3. As specified in Section 2.28.080(a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vo·te of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTION ~. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environ..'tlental impact assessment is necessary. SECTION 6. As provided in Section 2.04.350 of the Palo Alto MUnicipal Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
