HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-06-24 Ordinance 4353• • ORDINANCE NO. 4353 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1995-96 TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 19514, FACILITY ROOF REPLACEMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 19, 1995 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1995-96; and vlliEREAS, the City Council has approved the Facility Roof Replacement Capital Improvement Project (CIP 19514) and included in the CIP was $560t000 to fund the reroofing of six City facilities: including the Civic Center Police/Council Chamber Wing reroofing project; and l•l11ERE..A.S, there are insufficient funds in CIP 19514 to cover the cost of this project resulting in the need for an additional appropriation of $89~000; and ~THEREAS, City Council authorization is needed to amend the 1995-96 budget as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION l. The sum of Eighty Nine Thousand Dollars ($89,000) is hereby transferred from the Budget Stabilization Reserve; to the appropriation for Capital Improvement Project Number 19514/ Facility Roof Replacement Project, and the Budget Stabilization Reserve is correspondingly reduced. SECTION 2. The appropriation ~ransfer approved by Section 1 will reduce the Budget Stabilization Reserve from $14,893,651 to $14,804,651~ SECTION 3. As specified in Section 2.28.080{a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. • • SECTION 4. The roof replacement project is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environment Quality Act (•CEQA•), pursuant to section 15301 of the CEQA guidelines. SBCTIQN s.
