ORDINANCE NO. 2412 ORIGINAL
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AND ADOPTING A PLAN TO ENLARGE THE ZOO
AREA OF THE·PALO ALTO JUNIOR MUSEUM IN RINCONADA PARK
WHEREAS, Section 5 of Article Vlll of the Charter of the
Ci~y of Palo Alto requires that before any substantial building,
construction, reconstruction or development is commenced or
approved upon or with respect to any land held by the City for
park purposes the council shL~l first cause to be prepared and
by ordinance approve and adopt a plan therefor; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did, by Ordinance No. 2252 adopted
September 13, 1965, place Rinconada Park on the list of lands
used or intended to be used for park purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Council proposes to develop a portion of
Rincnnada Parkas an enlargement of the existing zoo facilities
of the Palo Alto Junior Museum
NO'tl, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. That the site plan marked· EXHIBIT A attached
hereto and by reference made a part hereofJ describing the.pro
posed portion of Rinconada Park to be developed· as a part of the
zoo facilities of the Palo Alto Junior Museum be and the same
hereby is approved and adopted.
SECT!ON 2. This ordinance ~hall.becoirle effective upon the
expiration of thirty days from its passage.
