ORDINANCE NO. 4333
ORDINANCE OF THE COTJNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1995-96 TO
PR~IIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR EMERGENCY REPAIR
OF THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY TO THE CIVIC CENTER
WHEREAS. pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto/ the Council on June
19~ 1995 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1995-96; and
WHEREAS, on December 25/ 1995 there was a failure in the main
power feed to the Civic Center; and
~VHEREAS~ the Electric Utility has made a temporary connection
of power to the Civic Cent~r; and
\'1HIZREAS, the electrical con..Tlection needs to be repaired with
a permanent connection as soon as possible; and
~~. the budget needs to be ~nended to fund the emergency
contract that will perform this work for a cost of $42,000; and
WHEREAS, City Council authorization is needed to amend the
1995-96 budget as hereinafter set forth.
NOW1 THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1~ The sum of forty-two thousand dollars ($42,000) is
hereby appropriated to nnn-salary expenses in the Functional Area
Structures and Grounds in the Public Works Department and the
General Fund Budget Stabilization Reserve is correspondingly
reduced.
SECTION 2. This transaction will reduce the Budget
Stabilization Reserve from $13,573~466 to $13,531,466.
SECTION 3. As specified in Section 2.28.080(a) of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is
required to adopt this ordinance.

SECTIQN 4. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds
that the enactment of this ordinance is not a project under the
California Environmental Quality Act and, thereforef no
environmental impact assessment is necessary.
,SECTION 4. As provided in Section 2.04~350 of the Palo Altu
MUnicipal Code, this ordinance shall became effective upon adoption.
