HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-01-16 Ordinance 4324• • ORDINANCE NO. 4324 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1995-96 TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1.2 of ~&.rticle III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 19, 1995 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1995-96; and WHEREAS, support for the visual arts is an important goal of the City of Palo Alto; and WHEREAS, the Community Services Department has applied for a matching grant from the California Arts Council for exhibition and education activities; and WHEREAS, the California Arts Council awarded a matching grant in the amount of $5 1 810 to the Department; and WHEREAS, the funds necessary to match the grant have been budgeted in the Arts and Culture functional area budget for 1995- 96; and WHEREAS, City Council authorization is needed to accept a~d expend the grant receipts, and to amend the 1995-96 budget as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Grant Revenue is increased by the sum of Five Thousand Eight Hundred Ten Dollars ( $5, 810) for the receipt of grant funds. SEC'riON 2. The sum of Five Thousand Eight Hundred Ten Dollars ($5,810} is hereby appropriated to non-salary expenses in the Arts and Cultur~ functional area of the Community Services Department. SECTION l· This transaction will have no impact on reserves. • • SECT~ON 4. As specified in Section 2.28.080(a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTIQN 5. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is necessary. SECTION 5. Municipal Code, adoption.
