ORDINANCE NO. 2394
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 6.12.010 AND 6.12.020 PERTAINING TO
IMPOUNDMENT Of' ANIMALS AND ANIMAL SHELTER FEES
' The Council of the City of Pc:Ho Al to does ORDAIN as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 6.12.010 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is hereby amended.co read as follows:
11 6.12.010 Disposition of Impounded_Animals.
The Pound.master shall hold any stray animal impounded
under the provisions of this title for a period of three
days during which time the owner of such animal, if known,
shall be notified by mail, after which time said animal
may be sold by the Poundmaster as follows:
(a) Notice bf the time and place of sale and con
taining a description of the animal to be sold must be
posted for three days on the bulletin board at the Animal
Shelter.
(b) Sales shall be for cash, at prices established
by the City Manag.er.
(c) If any animal is n~t redeemed or sold, the Pound
master may continue to hold the animal for subsequent sale
in accordance with the above provisions, or order the
destruction of the animal.
SECTION 2. Section 6.12.020 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code.is hereby amended to read as follows:
"6.12.020 Animal Shelter Fees.
The' City shall be entitled to charge and receive from
the.owner the following fees for services in impounding
animals:

SECTION 3. This ordinance ahall become effective thirty
days after the expiration of its passage.
