ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF TitE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTIONS 10.44.010 AND 10.60.030 or THE
.PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE CLARIFYING ESTABLISHED
PARKING RESTR~CTIONS AND PROVIPING FOR MULTI~LE
CITATIONS FOR CONTINUED PARKING VIOLATIONS
The Council of the City -of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follo""s:
SECTION 1. Section 10.44.010 of the Palo Alto Municipal
C•Jt.H.~ is hereby atuended to read as follows·:

(a) The city council shall by ordinance or: i:esolut:ion
establish such parking, or stopping, standing anu parKing
restrictions o~ prohibitions as may be necessary, and the
city manager shall designate such streets, portions of
streets, or city-owned parking lo~sby appropriate signs
or mal."ldngs giving effect to such par1dng or stopping,.
standing and parking restrictions or prohibitions.
(b) Wheri 'authorized signs are in place giving notice of
such prohLoition_or limitation, no per~on shall stop, stand
or park any vehicle in violation of such sign~
(c) Whenever the stopping, .stanc;ling or parking of. a vehicle
has been prohibited, restrict~d; or.limited as to time oy
this chapter or anf resolution enacted pursuant hereto,
the continued standing or parking of such vehicle after a
citatjon tnerefore has been issued shall constitute a
separate and additional violation of ~he provfsion for . · .
which the citation was issuedi when such standing or parking
continues for an additional peri6<l longer than the maximum
permissible peripd o.~ parking in ~.uch space ,or location
after issuarice of such citatibnj or if ao:~uch period of

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective upon the
