ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1997-98 TO
PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 18617, ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June
24, 1996 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1997-98; and
WHEREAS, the Community Services Department has received a
contribution of $23,550 from the developer of 200 Sheridan Avenue
to the City's Art in Public Places program; and
WHEREAS, the contribution represents the balance of funds owed
to the artist, Brian Goggin, for the complet n of the sculpture
"Body of Urban Myth", that will be installed in the plaza. fountain
at 200 Sheridan Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the budget must be amended in order to appropriate
funds for expenditure; and
WHEREAS, City Council authorization is needed to amend the
1997-98 budget as hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The sum of Twenty Three Thousand Five Hundred And
Fifty Dollars ($23,550) in revenue is added to the General Fund, and
is correspondingly transferred to the Capital Improvement Fund, and
CIP 18617, Art in Public Places Program is correspondingly
increased.
,SECTION 2. This transaction will have no impact on reserves.
SECTION 3. As specified in Section 2.28.080(a) of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is
required to adopt this ordinance.
SECTION 4. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds
that this is not a project under the California Env::ronmentai
Quality Act and, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is
necessary.

SECTION 5. As provided in Section 2.04.350 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.
