SEC. 4 .. 22. PERMIT REQUIRED.

type herein defined witbout first obta.1nlri.g a perm.1·c therefor
tram the Chief or Police of the City of Palo Alto in tbe'~amter
bereinafter prov1ded in this Article.
SEC. 4.23., ~PPLICATION FOR AND GRAJ.'lTING OF P.E.P.MIT.
No permit to conduct a salle as defined herein sha,ll be granted
except upon writtenappJ..1cation to the Chief of Pollce" s1gned and
verified before a person 8uthor:1zed to administer oaths" by the per
eon who 1ntends to conduct sucb sale" and each appl:teation shall set

SEC. 4.24. CONDITIONS OF PERMIT.

grant sucb renewal, which sh,all oe endorsed and signed as provided
for the original perm1 t. Tbe Chief 0; Pollce may rene!4' any or1gInal

man.ner above prov1ded not to exceed two times .. upon the payment of

Such permit shall be valid only fOl" the advertis1ng" represen

mentioned 1n such applIcat1ijn ahall I:aus,e aueb good.s to lose tbe1r
1dentity as ttte stock of any of tbe sales'def1ned herein" and no per
mits thereafte\r w111 be 1SStled tor the cond~Jcting or ,a sale of any
such goods" wares Or mEiroba:o.d1se in such ma,nner as to identify them
with tbe store" store name store owner or looation referred to '1n tbe
original application.
SEC. 4.27. ,W'FORCEMENT (J
Upon commencement and throughout the duration of any sale, as
herein de~1ned, the sa1d permit snall be prominently displayed near

At the close ofbue1ness each day tbe stock list attached to tbe

The provisions of this Art1cl(o~ shall not apply to or affect
