The Council or the City of Palo Alto DOBS ORDAIN as follows: Tl'lat a general municipal election .was duly called and held in the City of Palo Alto on May 12, ,1953, tor the purpose of electing five councilmen or said city t"or a term or six years, cne councilman for a term of four years, and two councilmen for a term or two years. That the ~lection boards or t~e several precincts have duly certified the results or 11a1d 4ecUon to this Council, and this Council h&'ving duly examined and canvassed the same, finds that Robert W. Byxbee, Mildred S . Corc•)r.an, 'Joel Edmund Porter, Lee W. Rodgers and Karl M. Ruppenthal~, havi~ received a majority of the votes cas·t at said election, ·we:~e duly and r egularly elected ror a term or six years, commencing July l, 1953, to serve as councilmen for said city, that: :Robert H. Cummings, having received a majority or the vote11 ::ast at said election was duly and regularly elected tor a tun11 of !'our years, co11111en­ cing July l, 1953, to serve as counc1lna~, and Donald A. Hanley and Paul J. Huston, having received a t~jority of the votes cast at said election, were duly and regula1·l~r elected for a term or two years, commencing July l, 1953, to si~rve as councilmen, and it is hereby declared that the above ni1111t!d candidates are duly and regularly elected councilmen fo'!' the terma above set rorth. Tae City Clerk is directed to pos·; this ordinance on the Bull~t1n Board in t he Ci ty Hall and t h(i 1Ja aie shall go into effect immediately.
