ORDINANCE NO. 4423 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING CHAPTER 22.08 OF TITLE 22 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTION 22.08.380 TO DEDICATE 351 HOMER AVENUE, PALO ALTO, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE WILLIAMS PROPERTY, AS A PARK AND RESERVING THE WILLIAMS PROPERTY FOR PARK, PLAYGROUND, RECREATION OR CONSERVATION PURPOSES WHEREAS, Article VIII of the Charter of the City of. Palo Alto and Section 22.08.004 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code require that if any site, parcel or area of land owned by the City of Palo Alto intended to be used for park purposes shall be reserved for park, playground, recreation or conservation, the Council shall first cause to be prepared an ordinance dedicating such site, parcel or area of land for such puzposcs; and WHEREAS, on June 10, 1996, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 7594, declaring its intention to dedicate the property commonly referred to as the Rhona Williams Property ("Property') as parkland upon the execution of a lease with the Museum of American Heritage; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara approved a $40,000 grant to the Property for restoration work purposes, provided that the Property is dedicated to and intended to be used for park; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. The Council hereby declares that the real property and improvements located at 351 Homer Avenue, 'Dalo Alto are hereby reserved for park, playground, recreation or conservation purposes, and the foregoing real property and iffprovernents are hereby dedicated as a city park and named the "Dr. Thomas M. and Dora Moody Williams Park." SECTION 2. Section 22.08.380 of Chapter 22.08 of Title 22 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code is hereby added to read as follows: °22.08.380 Dr. Thomas M. and Dora Moody Williams Park. That certain parcel of land known as the "Dr. Thomas M. and Dora Moody Williams Park" delineated and described in Exhibit A-25, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby reserved for park, playground, recreation or conservation purposes." 1 970416 syi 0071181 SECTION ,3.
