ORDINANCE NO. 3245
ORDIN,~NC8 OF 'l'HE COUNCIL OF THECITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1980-81 TO
PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PRO.J8CT NO. 80-21 "MAIN LIBRA.RY RENOVATION"
WHER~AS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 23, 1980r
did aoopt a budget for. fiscal y~ar. 1980-81; and
mlEREAS, Capital Improvement Project No. 80-21 has been estab
lished for ~Main Library Renovation"; and
WHEREhS, the City of Palo Alto desires to eliminate safety haz
ards, implement energy saving techniques, and correct code violations
at the Main Library, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to contract for d0sign serv1~es related
to these irnprovements and to make funds available for first p~~3~ c0n
.struction;

SECTION 1. The sum of One Hundred Seventy-five Thousand Dollars
($i7':i-:Ci"61i) is-appropriated to Capital Improvement Project No. 80-21
"M;~in Libarary Renovation" an<i the Reserve for General Operating Con
tinqency is correspondingly decrf?ased.
SE;c·rroN 2. An environmental assessment has been conducted and
the Council"' finds that this project. will not have an adverse environ-
mental impact.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately as
provided in S~ction 12 of A~ticle III of the Charter and Section
2.04.375 Gf the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
