'l'HE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING SECTION 12.16.020 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE BY ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 22 WHEREAS, on July 7, 1980, the Council of the City of Palo Alto adopted Resolution No. 5818, a resolution of intention to amend Section 12.16.020 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code by establishing under9:cound utility district No. 22 in said City and appointed Monday 1 August 18, 1980, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hallr 250 Hamilton Avenuer Palo Alto, California, as the t irne and place of hearing prates ts and receiving ev iden.ce for and against said proposed action and directing notice; and WHEREAS, the cancel led and the 19 8 0; and Cot.me i.l Council meeting of res ch ed uled August 18, tbe. above 1980, was subsequently hearing for August 25, WHEREAS, notice was given of the time and place of said hearing stated in the manner provided by J.aw r as appears :from the af f id av its on file in the office of the City Clerk; and wt:n~:REA[j 1 said matter came on regularly for hearing at the time therein fixed, and WHEREAS, all written protests. and other written cornmunl.ca.tions were publicly read at said meeting cind evidence duly tab.~n and all persons desiring to be heard were fully heard; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does OHDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. The publ.i. c nece:3s i ty, heal th and safety require the removal of po.les and overhead lines and associated overhead structures from that certain area described in sai.d Resolution No. 5818. SECTION 2. Section 12.16.020 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code is amend.ed by adding subsection ( 22) thereto to read as follows: 11 (22} District No. 22. All lands within the area of the City of Palo Alto bounded by Cambridge Avenue, El Camino Real, Sherman Avenue and Park Boulevard; removal ninety ( 90) days after completion and acceptance of the work~ 11 SECTION 3. The "Underground Utility Map" referred to in said Section 22. 16-:-020 shall be amended to add the areas shown on the map referred to in said Resolution No. 5818. SECTION 4. The Council finds that the adoption of this Ordinance will have no -signTficant adverse environmental impact. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective upon the commencement of the thirty-first day following the date of its passage.
