ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 2.18.070(a) OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE
AND ADDING SEC'rION 2 .18. 070 (d) REGARDING THE VISUAL ARTS JURY
The Counci 1 of the City of Palo A.l to does ORDAIN .:i.s follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2 .18. 0 70 (a) of the Palo Al to Mttnicipal Code
i~t hereby amended to read as follows:
"(a) Art in Public Places Program. The Visual Arts Jury
shall perform the duties and shall have the responsibilities
specified. in Chapter 2. 26 of this 'l1). tle. 0
SECTION 2. Section 2.18.0?0(d) is hereby add1;~d to the Palo Alto
Munic{pal Code· to read as follows~
"(d) Interaction with City Departments. The Chief Building
Official shall determine whether a proposed work of art is a mural or
a sign under Palo Alto Municipal Code Section 16.20.010(10) prior to
review by the Visual Arts Jury."
SECTION 3. The Council finds th.at the aa.option of this ordinance
will have nos.ignificant adverse environmental impact.

passage.
