HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3765• ORDINANCE NO. 3765 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENOING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1987-88 TO PROVIDE AN AOOlTlONAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE ARTS ANO SCIENCES OIVISION AND TO PROVIU£ FOR THE RECEIPT OF REVENUE F~OM THE SHAKER CRAFT SALES ANO GRANT FUNOS FROM THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL ANO FROM THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS WHEREAS, pursuant to the proYisions of Section 12 of Article Ill of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 22. 1987 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1987-83; and WHEREAS,. the Visual Arts Program has been established to enhance the public's awareness, understanding~ and enjoyment of visual arts by providing access and involvement; and WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Cult'JJ·al Center, by supporting the Shaker Crafts exhibition and providing Shaker Cnft merchandise, is furthering this objective; and WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Arts Council and the American lnsti tute of Architects has agreed to underwrite a grant of Three Thousand Five Hundred Oollars ($3,500) for the exhibition and net revenue from the craft sales is expected to be Four Hundred Dollars ($400). NOW,. THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The sum of Seven Thousand One Hundred Dollars ( $7 ,100} is appropriated to t11e Y'i sua 1 Arts Program of the Arts and Sciences Division as: 1) One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500) for technical services,. 2) Three Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($3,600) for supplies and, 3) Two Thousand Dollars ( ~2,000) for genera 1 expenses. Revenues are 1 ncreased Seven Thousand Five Hundred Uollars {$7,.500) as: 1) Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500) for grant exhibition revenue and 2) Four Thousand Oollars ($4,000} for exhibit sales. The fund balance is proJeCted to increase Four Hundred Dollars ( $400}. . SECTION 2. The Council finds that this is not a project for pijrposes of the California En vi ronmenta 1 Qua 11 ty Act and, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is neces5ary. SECTION 3.
