wHEKEAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1?. of Article !U of the
Charter of the City of Palo Alto. the Council on June 22, 1987 did adopt a budget
for fiscal year l~87-8d; an~
~iH£!\£AS~ the City of Palo Alto tas established an Electric Incentives
Program within the Electric Utility; and
IIIHER£AS, the City of Pa1o Alto has oeeo award~1 funding fr001 tile American
Pub 11 c Power Association for .3. Therm~ 1 £nerg;· Storage Pilot Project.
NOW, fH£K£FuR£, tile Council of the City of Palo Alto does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Tne sum of Twenty-F1ve Thousand Dollars ($25.000) is
appropriated ~ the Energy 5ervices Progra• of the Electric Utility for equipment
purchase and esti:aated reven~.~e 1s correspoitdingly increased to reflect the
receipt of revenue frooa the .berican Public Power Association.
SECTION 2. The Co~mcll finds that tn1s project is categorically exempt for
purposes of the California Environ~ntal Quality Act and. therefore. no
environntental iJJpa.c~ as~sS11ent is necessary.
SECTION J.. This ordinance sha l1 beCOile effective i.edia tely as provided in
Section 12 of Art1cle lU of the Charter and Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code.
