PAr~€' ALTO AMENDING ORDIN~NCE NO. 3705
(GOLDEN TRIANGL~ FLOOR AREA RATIO MORATORIUM)
FOR STRUCTURES OF LESS THAN 1,000 SQUARE FEET
WHEREAS, on September 2, 1986, th~ City Council adopted an
ordinance imposing·a moratorium on issuing land use approvals ..:>r
building permits for uses not in conformance with the floor area
r:a t io pol icy of the Golden Tt-:-.iangle Task Force; dod
WHEREAS, various exceptions to the moratorium ar:e contained
in the ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to add an ddditional
excep-tion;
NOW, T!iERE:FORE, the Council of the City of Pale Alto :Joes
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 3705 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Section J. Section 2 above notwithstanding,
a land us~ approval andjor building p~rmit may be
granted for the following uses and/or structures in
any commercial or industrial zone where such use is a
permitted or conditional use or such structure houses
a permitted or conditional use:
· (a) Branch bank.
(b) Hospital.
(c) Hotel.
(d) Restaurant facilities.
{e) Retail.
(f) Warehous~ facilities up to a FAR of .50.
(g) A structr ce, or addition to an existing
structure, which does not exceed 1,000 square feet,
provided that the director of planning and community
environment determines that the structure will be
environmentally beneticial and will not produce any
increase in employment.
SECTION 2. The Council finds that none of the provisions of
this ordrnance will have a significant envirvnrnental effect~
SECTION 3. The remaining terms and provisions of Ordinance
No. J'bs shall remain unchanged and in full force and effectR
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective upon the
commencement of the thirty-first day after the day of its
passage.
