ORDINANCE OF iHE COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of PALO ALTO
. AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1986-87 TO PROVIOC
AN ADDITIONAL .\PPROPRIATION FOR THE ARTS AMO SCIENCES OIYISIOH AND
TO PROVIDE FOR THE RECEIPT OF GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CAUFORf4IA ARTS COUNCIL
ARTISTJC AND ADMINISTRATIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRA.~
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article !ll of tne
Charter of the City of Palo A1to, the Council on June 23, 1986 did adept a budget
for fiscal year 1986-87; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto has establis~d a ~ster Class
Program within the Arts and Science~;. Division; and
WHEREAS~ the Master Class Program brings renowned or eeerging artists to the
Palo Alto cultural Center to offer intensive shc;rt ... term workshops on their
techn1 ques and art I s·tic philosophy and to provide ind ividua 1 instructf on in their
field of expertise; and
WHEREAS, the California Arts Council (CAC) Artistic and ~inistrat1ve
Development Program, has agreed to assist the Master Class Prograrc through a
grant of ma.tching fw'lds.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of tile City of Palo Alto does o."dain as
follows:
. SECTION 1. The sum ·Of Twelve Thousan\1 Eight Hundred Nineteen Dollars
($12 ~819) 1 s appropriated to Professional Services in the Master Class Progr•• of
the Arts and ·Sciences .Visual . Arts Progra• ar.d e$tfMted reven~ fs
correspondingly increased to reflect receipt of v•nt funds m:. the CAC Artistic
and Administrattv~ Develop.~ent Progra•.
