OROIN~NCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
-AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1936-87 TO .
PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF.
THE REGIONAL WATER QUALITY-CONTROL PLANT EXPANSION
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of tire
Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on .June 23, 1986 did adopt a budget
for fiscal year 1986-87; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto was directed by the Sar1 Francisco Bay Area
Regional Water Quality Board to p1an for ~apacity e~pansion of the Regional water
Qv41 i ty Control Plant; and
WHEREAS, a contract for Phase I of a two phase construction project is now
to be approved; and
WHEREAS~ the Regional Water Quality Control Plant capacity expansion project
as or'i gina lly conceived now i ncl udcs spec iff c plant i mprovemen \:S; and
WHEREAS, current designated funds are not sufficient to fund total project
costs including Change Orders; and
WHEREAS, an additional One Million Eighty Three Thousand Three Hundred
Dollars ( $1 ,083,300} is required from the Partners and Sub-'i>artners to fund the
project; and
WHEREAS, the Wastewater System Improvement Fund has a balance of $1.25
Million as of J~ne 30, 1986;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of ·the City of Palo Alto does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1., The sum of One Mill imr Eighty Thr~ Thousand Three Hundred
Dollars ( $L083,300), 1 s appropriated to the Uti li1:ies Cipi ta1 Project .
Construction Fund and the Reserve for System l~~SProve.-ents in the wastewater Fund
i.e; correspondingly decreased. The Regional ~ter Quality Control· Plant Partners
and Sub-Partners. reserve will be reimbursed the· sUM of Seven Hundred Eighty One
Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ( $781 ,900) after November 30, 1986.
SECTION 2. The Council ffnds that this is not a project for p~rpo~s· of tne
California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environaental iJ~P~ct
assessment is necessary. <
$ECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effe(;tive iraediately as provided in
Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code.
