ORDINANCE OF THE \..JUNCIL OF THE-CITY Of Pl\LO ALTO
AMENDING SECI'ION 18.08. 040 OF 'rHE PALO ALTO
MUNICIPAL CODE (THE ZONING MAP) TO CHANGE THE ZONE
CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE MAJORITY OF EXISTING CC AND
CS PROPERTIES IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA {AREA SURROUND
ING UNIVERSITY AVENUE BETWREN ALMA STRf.:BT AND
MIDDLEFIELD ROAD} FROM CC OR CS ~~ CD
The Council of the City of Palo Alto :hes ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 16.08.040 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code,the "Zon-ini.J Map," is t1ereby amended by cbangin9 the zoning
of the majority of existing CC and CS properties in the downtown
area (area surrounding Univer-sity Avenue between Alma Street and
Middlefield Road) from CC (Community r:ommercial District) or CS
(Service Commercial District) to CD (Commercial Downtown Dis
trict), as shown on the map attached r~reto, marked Exhibit A and
incorporated herein by this ~eference.
s:CTION 2. The Council finds that the rezoning of the above
properties is consistent. with the adopted Comprehensive Plan of
the City of Palo Alto.
SECTION 3. The Council hereby finds that this change r.till
have no sig-nificant adverse environmental impact.
SECTION 4. This ordinanr.e shall become effective upon the
commencement of the thirty-fir.·st day aft.er the day of its passage.
