ORDINANCE NO. 3680 _
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CIT'i OF PALO ALTO
EXTENDING THE ORDINANCES IMPOSING DEVELOPMENT
MORATORIA IN THE OOWNTOWN ARE:A
WHEREAS, on September 18, 1984, the City Council enacted
ord ina nee No. 3 57 0 imposing rr.ora tor ia on new square footage and
the conversion of non-off i.c:e uses to off ice uses in the downtown
area~ and
WHEREAS, the original mor.:i tor ia ot"d inance has been amended
and/or extended by Ordinance Nos. 3586 and 3589, and Ordinance No.
3625 and is now due to expire on May 28, l986J anJ
WHEREAS, in order to hold public hearings and adopt new
r>-·velopment r-egulations for the downtown area, the moratoria need
to be extended ~ntil Septembec 30, 1986.
NO\'J, THERI:":FORE, the Council of ~he City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION l. Sect ion 3 of Ordinance No. 3 57 0, as amended by
Ordinance Nos. 3589 and 3625, is hereby amended to read:
SECTION 3. The moratoria set forth in se'ctions 1
and 2 above shall be in effect until September 30, 1986,
unless repeale~ sooner by the City Council.
--' SECTION 2. The Counc i 1 finds that none of the provisions of
this ordinance will have a significant environmental impact~
SECTION 3. This or~inance shall become effective upon the
commencement of the thirty-first day after the day of its passage.
