ORDINANCE NO. 3652
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCXL OF THE CITY OF PALO AL'tO
EXTENDING THE EXISTING MORATORIUM ON 'l'HE PROCESSING
OF APPLICATIONS FOR NEW OFFICE USES OF 5,000 SQUARE
FEET OR MORE IN THE GM ZONE
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 3547 this Council enacted a mora
torium on the processing of all applications for. planning approval
or building permits for ne'itl or converted medical, professional,
general business or administrative office uses of 5,000 square
feet or more in certain areas zoned Service Commercial (CS) and
General Manufacturing (GM); and
WHEREAS, the moratorium is to expire on January 9, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City has adopted new regulations to apply to the
CS zone and the Planning Commicsion has reviewed the study of
current zoning regulations on the future development of the GM
areas involved and has ::1ade a recommendation to the City Council~
and
WtiEREAS f the City Counc i 1 wi 11 take action in January 1986r
and
WHEREAS, although the moratori.um has been extended twice by
Ordinances 3587 and 3620, the Counci,l does not wish to ter.minate
the moratcrium in the GM districts without taking action on the
land use study;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Counc i 1 of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The J,:muary 9, 1986 termination date of the
moratorium establ is~1ed by Ordinance 3547, and e.xtended by
Ordinances 3587 and j620, for certain GM districts in the City, as
shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit •A,a is ·hereby
exte1tded to March 11, 1986, unless sooner terminated by the
Council.
SECTION 2. The Council .finds that this project will have no
significant adverse environmental impact~ ·
SECTION 3.. This ordinance shall become effective upon the
comm.encement of the thirty-first day after the day of its passag·e.
