J,.; ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF Tiff· CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1985-86 TO
PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR TH~ ARTS .
MID SCIENCES DIVISION AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE RECEIPT
OF GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNI-A ARTS COUNCIL

WH£R&AS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 24, 1985,
did adopt a budqet for fiscal year 1985-86; and
WHEREAS, the Counc i 1 of the City of Palo .Alto has established a
Master Class Pz:ograrn within the Arts & Sciences Oivision1 and
WHEREAS, the Master Class Program br i n9 s renowned l?r emerging
artists to the Palo Alto Cultur~l Center to offer intensive short-term
workshops on their techniques and artistic philosophy and to provide
individual instruction in their field of expertise; and
WHEReAS, the California Arts Council (CAC) Artistic and Adminis
trative Development ?rogram, has agreed to assist the Master ClaS$
Program through a grant of matching funds.
MOW, THER~FORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION l. The sum of Six Thousand Six Hundred Twelve Dollars
($6,612) is appropriated to Professional Services in the Master Cl.t.tss
PrOC)raa of the Arts and Sciences Visual A~ts ProqTam and estimated:,
revenue is correspondingly increased to reflect R;"eceipt of grant funds ....
froa the CAC Artist.ic and Ad•inistrative Development Progt.·am. ., ·
SECTION 2. 'l'he Council finds that this is not a project-under the·_·~; '1
