PERMITS . AND B.UILDING PERMITS . FOR SUBSTANDARD LOTS
lN R-1 DISTRICTS . IN THE CITY OF. PALO ALTO
WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned with the potential for
large residences to be built on substandard lots in the R-1 Districts
throughout the City; and
WHE~EAS, th~ Counc i 1 recognizes tho need for a study of the appro
priate zoning and site development r.egulations for these substandard
lots; and
WHEREAS, the issuance of demolition permits and building permits,
during the study would impede the w·orth of the study and would run
counter to the Council's concern about intensity of development:
NOW, THEREFCRF:, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. A moratorium is imposed on the issuance of demolition
permits and/or building permits on sub~tandard lots in all R-1 Dis-:·,
tricts Qf the: City of Palo Alto except those in the College Terrace .
area where Ordinance.No. 3633 impose-d a similar-nratorium.
