COD~~ REGARDING THE Dt·;FINITION OF "NOISE LEV~~L"
The City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
S~CTlON 1. Section 9.10.020, subsection (c), of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code is hereby amended to ~ead:
"(c) 1 Noise level 1 is the maximum continuous sound
level or repetitive peak sound leve] produced by a
source or yroup of sources as measured with a
~recision sound level meter. In order to meas~re a
noise level, the controll3 of the precision sound
level meter should be arranged to the setting
a.ppropriate to the type of noise being measured."
SECTION 2. The Council finds that none of the p~ovisions of this

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effecti.ve upon the
commencementOf the thit·ty-fir-st day aftf~r the day of its pas ;arJe.
