ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ~ALO ALTO
AMENDING S8CTION 12.16. 020 Of' CHAPTER i 2.16 OF
TITLE 12 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE BY
ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 26
The council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
WHEREAS, this Council did, Oil January 14, 1985, adopt its
Resolution No. 6340 of Intention to Amend s~ction 12.16.020 of Chapter
12.16 of Title 12 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code by Establishing
Underground Utility District No9 26 in said City and by said Resolution
appointed Monday, the 25th day of February 1985, at the hour of 7:30
o'clock p~m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 250 Hamilton Avenue,
Palo Alto, California, as th~ time and place of hearing protests and
receiving evidence for and ~gainst said proposed action and directing
notice;
WHEREAS, notice was given of the time and place therein stated in
the manner provided by law, as appears from the affidavits on file in
the office of the City Clerk;
WHEREAS, said matter came on regularly for hearing at the time
therein fiyed; and
~IEREAS, all written protests and other written co~nunications
were publicly read at said meet.ing and evidt=::nce duly taken and aJl
p~tsons desiring to be heard wer~ fully heard1
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND, DETERMINED and ORDERED, as follows:
SECTION 1. The public necessity,.health and safety require the
removal of pole~ and overhead lines and associasted overhead structures
.from that certain arP.a described in said Resolution No. 6340.
SECTION 2. Section 12.16.020 of Cnapter 12.16 of Title 12 of the
Palo Alto Municipal Code is amended by adding Subsection (26) tt~reto,
said Subsection (26) to read as follows:
•(?,6) District No. 26. All lands within the
City of Palo Alto w~thin Arastradero Road from Alto
Mesa Avenue to Hillvi~w Avenue an1 adjacent to
Arastraoero Road on both sides from approximately
50 feet souther~y of Alta Mesa Avenue to Georgia
Avenue~ removal ninety (90) days after completion
and acceptance of the work."

SECTION 3. The "Underground Utility District Map" referred to in
said Section 12 .. 16.020 shall be amended to add the areas shown on the
map ~eferred to in said Resolution No. 6340.
SEC'fiON 4.. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the
expiraticn of thirty (30) days from its passage.
The foregoing Ordinance was duly and regularly introduced at a
regular meeting of the Council of the City of Palo Alto held on the·
25th day of February, 1985, and was thereafter at a regular meeting
held on the 11th day of March , 1985, duly and regularly
passed by the following vote~
AYES: Bechtel t Cobb, Fletcher, Klein, levy, Renzel, Sutorius,
Witherspoon, Woolley
NOES: None
ABSTENTIONS: None
