WHEREAS, pursu~nt to t~e provisions of Section 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City :>f Palo Alto, the Council on June 25, 1984,
did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1984-85~ and
WHEREAS, the overall financial deMands of the City have increased
an~ become more complex: and
WHEREAS, specific technical expertise is needed to strengthen the
accountinq section for develc..>pment and implementation of enhanced
financial systems;
NOW, "'HERE FORE, the Counc i 1 of the City of r alo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. The nu•ber of authorized posith:ms in the Finance
Department lSilncr~~sed by one for a Manager of Accounting.
. SECTION 2. The su. of ~wenty Thousand Dollars ($20,00C) is appro-
