ORDINANCE 01'' THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1984-85 TO
INCREASE THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS AND RELJ.~TED APPROPRIATIONS IN THE CITY AUDITOR'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 12 of Article II~
of the Chart~r of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 25, 1984,
did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1984-85; and
WHEREAS, on November 8, 1983, the voters of Palo Alto approved an
amendment to the City Ctarter to add the Office of City Auditor; and
WHEREAS, the City Charter requires an audit of all fiscal trans
actions; and
WHEREAS, to accomplish the requir.ed work set fortal by the City
Charter, additional personnel resources are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN

SECTION t. The authorized positions of the City Auditor's Office
are increased by 1.5 to add 1.0 Senior Auditor and .5 Auditor.
SECTION 2.. The sum of Twenl;/-six Th0usand Three Hundred Thirty-
five· Dollars ($2€,335) is appropriated to the City Auditor's Office .as·
follows:

Supplies
Equipment Purchase
General Expense

and tne Reserve for Capital Projects is correspondingly decreased.
SECTION 3. The Coun~il finds that this is not a project under the'
Californ1a ·Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environm~nt~l
impact assessment is necessary.
